Reiki
Reiki is not a religion. It is a Japanese healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch. This touch (not necessarily physical) activate the natural healing processes of your body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Reiki is a technique that reduces stress and help with relaxation that also promotes healing. It’s administered by "lying on hands" and is based on the idea that unseen "life force energies" flow through us. These energies are what cause us to be alive. Should your "life force energy" feel low, you are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, and if it is high, you are normally more capable of being happy and healthy.
How is a Reiki treatment given?
In standard treatment, Reiki energy flows from the Reiki Healer’s hands into the client. The client, usually lies on a massage table, but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or standing. The client remains fully clothed. The Reiki Healer places his hands on or near the client’s body in a series of hand positions. Each position is held for approximately three minutes or longer, depending on the client’s needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 45 and 90 minutes.
